Attractions That Entice

Convenient access to the wealth of culture available in Downtown Memphis and beyond is just one more way in which River Inn accommodates guests.

Perhaps the biggest attraction to Memphis is the home of the King of Rock ’n Roll, Elvis Presley. Just a short ride away, Graceland, Elvis’ famous estate, is available for tours. Many visitors book a tour at Sun Studio to see where Elvis, as well as many other world-famous musicians, kick-started their careers. Guests can plan a trip to Soulsville USA and visit Stax Museum of American Soul Music to experience one of the most important movements in musical history.

No music tour of Memphis is complete without a trip down Beale Street, the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock ’n Roll, serving up barbecue, beer, and blues.

The culture found in Memphis is not limited to the blues and rock and roll. The Orpheum Theatre is home to Opera Memphis and Ballet Memphis, and features Broadway shows year-round, and the world-class Cannon Center for the Performing Arts plays host to the Memphis Symphony Orchestra as well as other prestigious events throughout the year.

Visit the award-winning National Civil Rights museum, and see how the world changed during the time of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. or enjoy one of the riverboat cruises, which run daily. Walking tours can also be arranged through the front desk.

For sports enthusiasts, Memphis’ own NBA team, the Grizzlies, offer courtside action at the FedEx Forum, and Autozone Park, home to the Memphis Redbirds, is recognized as the finest ballpark ever built below the major league level.

Tunica, Mississippi, the South’s Las Vegas, is only a short drive down U.S. 61. Tourists from all over the world try their turn with lady luck or satisfy their entertainment needs with a headline show.
